AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS
Le Jardin Noir Tattoo Aftercare
Second Skin Instructions
✽ Leave the bandage on for a minimum of three days to a maximum of seven days.
✽ If the bandage starts to leak, collect water, or is exposing the tattoo(s), take off the bandage* and wash the area with unscented soap such as Cetaphil or Dial.
✽ If for any reason you are getting red or itchy around the bandage, this is an allergic reaction and you should also remove the bandage promptly and then wash it with unscented soap!
✽ Sometimes, especially with heavy colour or black tattoos, you may see an "ink sack" which is a build up of plasma and fluid. This may make the tattoo look smudged or blurry. This is normal!
✽ When removing the bandage, do so in the shower to loosen the adhesive. Wash with clean hands and a gentle, unscented soap. Pat dry gently with a clean paper towel.
✽ If the tattoo is scabbing or flaking, apply a thin layer of an unscented lotion such as CeraVe, Lubriderm, or Glaxal.
Cellophane Instructions
✽ Leave the bandage on for about four hours. Do not sleep with the bandage on.
✽ Once the bandage comes off, wash with clean hands, a gentle, unscented soap, and warm water. Be sure to pat the area dry entirely with a clean paper towel.
✽ Once it begins itching, flaking, and/or scabbing (usually 3-4 days) apply a thin layer of unscented lotion.
Over the Next Two Weeks
✽ When choosing soaps and lotions, avoid scented, thick or oil based products.
✽ Do not pick or scratch any flakes or scabs while you are healing.
✽ Showers are safe, just be sure to dry the tattoo(s) afterwards as instructed above. No swimming, baths, hot tubs, or saunas for three weeks.
✽ Do not expose your tattoo(s) to sun for the first four-six weeks. When your tattoo is healed and you are going in the sun, use an SPF to preserve the tattoo(s).
✽ If you have any questions or concerns about your tattoo or the healing process, please reach out to your artist(s) directly.
